As Director of Finance and Accounting, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (and eventually reporting the CFO), you will support our company in critical decision making. You will lead development and maintenance of the clear picture of the HawkEye 360 financial position and activities, and bridge that information to key leadership and investors. You will be critical in taking revenue opportunities across the goal line and implementing in contracts. You’ll work among a talented leadership team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Additionally, you’ll work cross-functionally to ensure alignment, so this role demands great people skills, intuition, facilitation and good judgement. What you can expect from the position:
Be the “go to person” for all accounting and finance related issues for HawkEye 360 including a direct line to the entire HE360 leadership team.
Lead the transition of accounting and financial activity from being maintained as investor’s “shared services” to an internal and autonomous function of HawkEye 360.
Lead contracting activities, commercial and government, both for services and data sales.
Gain a deep understanding of the business operations and strategic vision of HawkEye 360.
Be responsible for managing the general ledger activity and the periodic financial close.
Opportunity to manage finance department staff team members.
Support the financial reporting function in preparing monthly management reports, including budget vs. actual analysis.
Assist in preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts, based on understanding of the nature of each business and their historical activity.
Oversee audit functions.
What we can expect from you:
10+ years of experience in the accounting and/or audit field, with at least 2 years of experience in a manager role.
Prior experience in the technology sector. Experience with software companies is highly beneficial.
CPA accreditation that is maintained current, proficient knowledge in US GAAP
Working knowledge of IFRS is favorable.
Experience in transitioning Accounting and Finance services from one company to the other.
Proficiency in NetSuite. Advanced MS Excel and modeling skills are a plus.
