    Allied Minds is an early stage operating / IP commercialization company collaborating with the most creative minds in academic, medical and federally-funded laboratory research to invest in cutting edge innovations in life sciences and technology.​


    Allied Minds is searching for a Director with a strong background in MedTech, Medical Devices and/or Medical device wearables to join the Life Sciences Investment team as we start more companies and develop more technologies in support of our newest investment theses. This person will also support our more mature companies which are bringing products to market. A strong candidate will have a graduate degree, preferably an MBA, MD or PhD with a life sciences background plus at least three to four years of work experience. Product commercialization is a distinct plus. Academic or employment experience in a hands-on life sciences role is strongly preferred, and experience using the tools of business analysis is required. Given our portfolio depth in medical devices as well as data driven wearable technologies, we are particularly interested in candidates with experience in and a passion for these domains.


    • Team with more senior investors to identify Life Sciences investment opportunities in support of Allied Minds’ investment theses
    • Perform due diligence on various new investment opportunities
    • Create financial models to represent potential market demand and portfolio company value
    • Create and execute on development plans while building out teams
    • Execute on projects in support of portfolio companies tailoring a product to a market need, preparing to raise a round of funding, or scaling to meet demand
    • Interact with various portfolio companies on a regular and possibly intermittent basis
    • Manage vendors including outsourced R&D, product development, IP assessment and creation and others
    • Represent Allied Minds in professional settings to the outside community such as events, conferences, and speaking engagements
    • Interaction with Key Opinion Leaders and physicians in various disciplines (clinical and technical KOLs) including regulatory affairs and reimbursement
    • Contribution to regular Allied Minds activities and interaction with the Allied Minds staff and team with regular updates to senior management and the entire organization
    • Other tasks and activities from time-to-time as needed to advance or evolve the portfolio and firm
    • Travel as needed (expected to be less than 30%), typically domestically including conference attendance


    • Bachelor’s degree with life sciences or financial coursework or experience required; MS/MBA/MD/PhD degree is preferred
    • 4+ years of related experience (e.g., VC/PE, consulting, business development, industry)
    • Previous experience in technical development, research or clinical setting is preferred but not required
    • Data and Analytics skills a must
