    The Role: This position is a subject matter expert and is heavily involved in technical innovation and the development of wireless system ecosystem development, encompassing technology, equipment, devices and applications. This position reports to the Chief Technology Officer.


    • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert on a broad range of wireless technologies that are relevant to the technology and business objectives of Federated Wireless including cognitive radio; RF systems, propagation models, and interference models; and the use of data centric and machine learning techniques in the development and expansion of the spectrum sharing ecosystem.
    • Work directly with the Product and Engineering teams in support of the overall business plan and participate in defining future technology and product requirements to address customer needs.
    • Provide theoretical analysis and simulation in the development of innovative technical solutions.
    • Lead intellectual property capture and contribute to the company’s intellectual property estate.
    • Represent the company in forums, conferences, and other public activities where it is important to detail the direction and technology strategy of Federated Wireless
    • Represent the company at public policy institutions including the FCC, DoD, NTIA, and related agencies



    • Broad technical knowledge (wireless, network protocols, coding, transmission, etc.), systems engineering, and channel modeling.
    • Proven capabilities in the definition, prototyping, and development of new wireless technologies and services.
    • Experience with various aspects of Intellectual Property development including the drafting of patent disclosures, patent applications, and USPTO Office Action responses.
    • Deep understanding of LTE network architecture, protocols, system performance and devices.
    • Understanding of LTE service layer (VoLTE, RCS, M2M, E911, etc.) and overall wireless network architecture and functionality (BSS, OSS, etc.).
    • Knowledge of spectrum sharing, the workings of spectrum allocation, and spectrum management process within federal agencies.
    • Minimum 7 years of experience in 3G/4G mobile wireless, wireless service provider experience desired.
    • MS degree in Electric Engineering or related field required, PhD desired.
    • Accomplished with technical papers, fora, groups, or research institutions.
    • Demonstrated capabilities in industry technical leadership and ability to provide technical support in customer, vendor, and technology partner management.
    • Experience with public speaking, organizing, and evangelizing.

     Travel:        Ability to travel up to 40%
